Lines We Live

Finding the soul in the honest, everyday objects that tell our personal stories.

Drawn to Detail Studio was born as a tribute to the design that shapes our community — the buildings we move through, the machines that carry us, and the objects we reach for without thinking. There is a specific, quiet power in an intentional line. It doesn’t fight its surroundings; it lives within them.

Our mission

Our mission is to bring attention to the “quiet beauty” we often miss in the intentional parts of our lives. Whether it’s the sweep of a roofline or the geometry of a chassis, we believe every intentional design deserves an archival record. Welcome to the studio.

Where the work began

[PLACEHOLDER — which object came first, and why. The collection is a concept anthology, but its starting point has not been named.]

How a portrait is made

These high-fidelity industrial illustrations are a form of emotional archaeology. It’s a slow, meditative way to study form, appreciate line work, and uncover the hidden details that make us connect with an object in the first place. We use digital tools to deliver artwork that feels deeply vintage — focusing on the tangible things mass production usually strips away, making sure the smallest details aren’t just part of the design, but the entire reason it exists.

Materials

Every piece is printed at 8 × 12, 12 × 18 or 20 × 30 inches — every size at the same 2:3 proportion the artwork is drawn at. The paper is a 340gsm 100% cotton rag, acid-free and archival grade, with a heavily textured matte surface closer to watercolor paper than to a photographic print. It holds an unusually wide color gamut and a deep black, which is what keeps flat color reading as intended rather than going chalky. Prices start at $80 and include shipping. A certificate of authenticity is included. Lead time is 1–2 weeks.

Connect & Collaborate

Every piece in this anthology began as a question about an ordinary object. If you have one worth asking about, tell us.
